In this year-long course the students will have weekly hands-on experiments and activities. The course covers units from various disciples of science so that every year there is a bit of something for everyone. For example: pond study and microscopic organisms (biology), light, sound and color (physics), the solar system (earth and space), pH experiments (chemistry), bridges (physics)... so many things to learn! The units vary in length but average about 5 weeks depending on the students. The units change every year so no subject is repeated within a 3 year period. There will be occasional homework for this class but not every week and should be able to be completed in one sitting. Each year there will be one unit that includes a book to borrow as a text. If there is a project it would be on the scale of a poster or shoe box diorama - nothing too extravagant or costly. All materials included in the class fee.
